Urban Dialogues

Three Faiths Forum's new initiative, Urban Dialogues, offers a chance for those who have stood aside until now to get involved in a lively and active way in interfaith activity.

Urban Dialogues events are organised with a partnership of single faith groups. The project urges those groups to take responsibility for their specific interfaith involvement, empowering communities to create lasting partnerships. The most recent Urban Dialogue event was run with the City Circle and London Jewish Forum at the offices of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Ten Muslim and ten Jewish young professional leaders/community activists met to discuss and find concrete solutions to “The Repercussions of the Middle East on Muslim-Jewish relations in the UK”. This was a private event facilitated by professional mediators. The meeting’s set up a working group to build on the United London Stands declaration, using Urban Dialogues and other encounters as a vehicle to work out methods of preventing conflict through open dialogue.

We are looking for further support for Urban Dialogues in London, as well as high-level speakers who would be appealing to all three communities.

Information on future events will be released in the coming months.
